I ran across this picture recently and instantly loved it.  If you notice in the background, the city’s stuck in fog.  What comes to your mind when glancing at this? Here’s a few randomly-provoked thoughts it gave me:

  • a musical chair party that no one showed up for.
  • tough audience
  • why are they looking at me like that.
  • lots to teach to empty seats.
  • Once you try out all the chairs and get to the last one, do you still remember what the first one felt like?
  • Strict Science. No room for buts.

We’ve been wicked super busy lately and have been struggling to find those spare extra moments to post new material here.  Tim management has always been an issue with me.  lol.  Aside from a couple sites I’m redesigning, I’ve been playing around with and learning how to work Google’s free 3D design program SketchUp.  I work with AutoCAD all the time and it’s been nice to give something else a spin.  It’s a really neat program, and great if you’re looking into redesigning or creating new.  To get used to it, I started by laying out the back corner of my yard, then through the garden. Eventually, I’ll get to the layout design of our house.  It’ll be nice to have this 3D layout, for any future remodelling decisions or whatnot.  The user interface is really simple (compared to AutoCAD’s complexity and expense at least) and doesn’t take too long to get used to.  I think the biggest pull for most semi-interested people, would be the ability to add Pictures as wall-paper to your 3 dimensionally created object.  Google’s 3D Warehouse showcases (or lets you showcase your own) projects and drawings.  Along with these two, you’ll be needing Google Earth , if
you don’t already, get it! This one’s a must.  Here you can explore 3D buildings, earth & now the Sky itself, or download
some drawings from the 3D Warehouse and view in their actual location.  Loads of fun that keeps me up past my bedtime.

The garden and yard have also been eating up my days.  I let the shrubs grow tall last year, w/out cutting them, so this year I could make some edging out of the long clippings.  It’s coming along nicely, and i really like the natural look of it.  A separate bush I let grow without a haircut for 2 years, and the boys and I have decided on turning it into a Stegosaurous. Should be interesting, figuring I’ve never tried making hedge sculptures out of 15 foot high hedges before.  Not even shorter ones for that sake.

I’ve also been squeezing in some drumming, here and there.

Boom duh-duh Boom Boom.. tss-up bup.
Boom duh-duh Boom Boom.. tss-up bup.
Boom duh-duh Boom Boom.. tss-up bup.
Boom duh-duh Boom Boom.. tss-up bup.
bup.

I thrive on creating things and my head is constantly filled with ideas and projects.  Oh what i’d give for a couple extra hours a day.
