Happy New Year!! I hope this one is ten-folds better than the last and wish everyone health and prosperity in it as well.
With this new year born, lots of people make these half-heartily concocted resolutions, that most of the time never make it to the end of the month. You know the ones I mean: losing weight, quitting smoking, save money, giving up this and that and so on. Its been going on since the Romans, according to a short article I listened to on NPR.org. USA.gov has a good list of the most popular resolutions people have and links to more information on achieving these goals.
This post isn’t to remind the small group of lucky folks that beat the odds and accomplish through shear determination. This post is written for the majority, including myself, who may think they’re going to succeed in making a fresh start last. In reality though, the huge failure rate is a pessimists wonderland and shown time and time again, to break a good intention pretty quick. What really counts is the mere fact of striving to get more from this life than ever achieved before. The step in the right direction that shouldn’t be shrugged off when the well intended plans fall through. The real test is how to rebound from the almost inevitable.
And Remember:
- Change isn’t easy, but is attainable with the right stride and precaution.
- Even if you don’t succeed, the effort is enough to build more or new on.
- You’re not the only one. Strength in numbers
- What good is it, if you’re miserable?
Be happy you’re where you are.
